What should incoming kindergarten students be able to do?
Q. My daughter will be in kindergarten next fall. I was wondering about some of the things she should be expected to do. She cannot read yet, but she knows her alphabet and the sounds letters make. She is starting to sight read (recognize words). She is very verbal, and she has terrific fine motor skills. I guess I am most concerned whether or not she needs to be able to read by day one.

What degrees do I need in order to become a kindergarten teacher and owner of the kindergartenr?
Q. I was thinking business studies, economics, psychology and nursing. What else (if I am wrong with what I said please correct me). What degrees do I need in order to be a kindergarten teacher and owner of the kindergarten?

A. My daughter did a degree in "Early Childhood Studies" and that more than qualifies her to undertake kindergarten and nursery management. She can also take a Post Graducate Certificate of Education if she wants which then allows her to teach infants and junior school children.

How can i become a senior or junior kindergarten teacher? What do you actually call these teachers?

A. You must have four years of college, and in most cases a Master''s Degree during your first few years of teaching. In college you will need to take courses that will help you to teach students in every subject. The program is four years, including required classes for all students. Teachers are paid okay, although they must spend a lot of money on classroom supplies.
