The city of Cambridge (pronounced /ˈkeɪmbrɪdʒ/ ( listen) (KAYM-bridj)) is a university town and the administrative centre of the county of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies in East Anglia about 50 miles (80 km) north of London. Cambridge is also at the heart of the high-technology centre known as Silicon Fen – a play on Silicon Valley and the fens surrounding the city. Cambridge is best known as the home of the University of Cambridge, one of the world's premier universities. The university includes the renowned Cavendish Laboratory, King's College Chapel, and the Cambridge University Library. The Cambridge skyline is dominated by the last two buildings, along with the chimney of Addenbrooke's Hospital in the far south of the city and St John's College Chapel tower in the north. According to the 2001 United Kingdom census, the city's population was 108,863 (including 22,153 students), and the population of the urban area (which includes parts of South Cambridgeshire district) is estimated to be 130,000. Cambridge is surrounded by many smaller towns and villages. From Wikipedia under the

I am planning on sending an application to the University of Cambridge but before I do, I would like to know if it`s an all girls school (or all boys school). I prefer mixed colleges, but Cambridge is at the top of my list. Can anyone help me? Asked by Raven N - Thu Oct 19 14:34:45 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I don't think you can apply to Cambridge University as a whole, unless you are seeking a place as an "Organ Scholar". Everybody else has to pick one of the colleges (there are over 20 of them) and apply to that. You really need sympathetic and well-informed first-hand help in choosing the college most likely to admit you. You have probably missed the closing date for applications to be admitted in October 2007. Most applications will be rejected, of course, and about three or four applicants for each available place will be interviewed in December, then informed of success or rejection in January. A very small number (too small to count on) are rejected by the college they apply to, but are put into a pool from which other colleges… [cont.] Answered by bh8153 - Fri Oct 20 13:20:27 2006 What are the requirements to study on MBA at Cambridge University and Harvard University? Q. I want to study in Cambridge University or Harvard University. Can anyone say me what are the requirements to get admission on MBA at Cambridge or Harvard University? Asked by sourav - Sat Nov 14 11:21:59 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The requirements are a good Grade Point Average, 2-4 years of work experience after your bachelors degree, and a high GMAT score. The competition is fierce and these schools reject 90 percent of qualified applicants. The Official MBA Guide provides a lot of information about the MBA degree and MBA schools and programs. It's a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, executive, and accelerated), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of… [cont.] Answered by Serge M - Sat Nov 14 21:19:44 2009 Can you recommened areas of Cambridge to live?
Q. We are looking to improve our quality of life and are currently researching areas in the Uk to relocate to ( currently living in Manchester) Cambridge has been recommended, but we need to have more information before we come to have a look around and research more detail. Can anyone tell me what are the best places to live, also what areas to stay away from. We are a couple aged 35 and 41, no children as yet with professional jobs. We are looking for a quiet area near the countryside but with commuting distance to Cambridge.Your advice is much appreciated. Thank you.
